Do Not Believe Them

Considering the never ending onslaught of attacks on our President and our Country I thought I would take this opportunity to remind you not to believe a word they say.

As you have no doubt noticed, if President Trump does it, it is wrong, dangerous or both.

Kill one of the world's most dangerous terrorists...Oh no, Iran will be mad and start bombing us...oh, nothing.

Do what every President has promised to do since at least Ronald  Reagan and move our Israeli Embassy to Jerusalem...Oh no, the "Arab Street" will rise up in righteous fury and ....oh, nothing.

Does not matter what the issue is. As some clever person wrote, more or less,

"If Trump wants to tie the left in knots he should propose building the border wall with solar panels!"

If you want a metric by which to evaluate the polls we are seeing here it is.

How many of you admit to being Trump enthusiasts at work, at church, at your favorite restaurant?

Not many. Who wants to endure the nonsense and much worse that can follow such a declaration.

Do not let them get you down. They are screaming so loudly because they are losing.

Volunteer, donate if you can, Vote!

Gaslighting, Systemic Racism Edition

"Gaslighting is a form of psychological manipulation in which a person or a group covertly sows seeds of doubt in a targeted individual or group, making them question their own memory, perception, or judgment, often evoking in them cognitive dissonance and other changes including low self-esteem."

As we all "know" the United States of America is infected by "systemic racism". This is a monstrous, demonstrable lie in the service of a failed narrative.

What is systemic racism?

According to Wikipedia,

"Institutional racism (also known as systemic racism) is a form of racism that is embedded as normal practice within society or an organisation. It can lead to such issues as discrimination in criminal justice, employment, housing, health care, political power, and education, among other issues." (Emphasis added)

Due to the wave of violence engulfing American cities inspired by our putative racist sins I decided to use two metrics to test the validity of the systemic racism charge. One measures political power the other police power.

How many Black mayors are there in the USA? 130. Must be mayors of little, mostly Black enclaves right? After all, Systemic Racism!

There are some of those, Hillsborough, AL for example. Population 550.

And then there are these;

Atlanta GA, Baltimore MD, Baton Rouge LA, Birmingham AL, Buffalo NY, Chicago IL, Dallas TX, Denver CO, Houston TX, Kansas City MO, Jackson MS, Little Rock AR, Montgomery AL, Newark NJ, New Orleans LA, Richmond VA, Rochester NY, San Francisco CA, and Washington DC.

"In the last quarter of the 20th century and the first two decades of the 21st, African Americans increasingly became involved in all levels of local government. During the 1970s cities like Tallahassee, Cincinnati, Detroit, Los Angeles, Washington DC and New Orleans elected their first black mayors. By the beginning of the 21st century, following the arrivals of African American mayors in cities like Memphis, Chicago, Philadelphia, Baltimore, New York City, Seattle, Denver, St Louis, Rochester, Minneapolis, Kansas City, Dallas, San Francisco and Houston, the elections of black Americans ceased to be newsworthy." (Emphasis added)

Systemic racism at work. Right.

It is the complete failure of these elected Black officials to change the life trajectory of inner city Blacks after 50 years of their dominance that led to the need for cover.

Voila! White privilege. Systemic racism. Black Lives Matter. Rampant violence and destruction. All in the cause of diverting attention from the abject and complete failure of Black mayors of major cities(all of whom are Democrats) to prove the left's thesis that if only they were in charge Black lives would be improved.

Known positive impact on their Black communities? ZERO.

Abject and complete failure of the narrative.

An adjunct of "if Blacks are in charge Black people's lives and prospects would improve" was the notion that if there were more Black cops and fewer racist white ones Black people's lives and prospects would improve.

Useful data is hard to come by for this metric. About 12% of the nation's cops are Black. That is about the same proportion that Blacks make up of the nation's population. Given the current addiction to ensuring that Blacks have proportionate representation in all things everywhere, except the NBA, NFL, MLB, NHL (just kidding), Rap Music, Hip Hop Music, Black Churches and the governing bodies of any Black majority county, city or town, that ought to be Ok. Black people make up about 14% of our nation's population. Apparently it is not.

There does not appear to be any list of Black Chiefs of Police in the USA.

I do know that the police chiefs of  Baltimore MD, Chicago IL, Dallas TX, Detroit MI, Oakland CA, Portland OR, Phoenix AZ, Richmond VA, and San Francisco CA are Black. No doubt there are others. I got tired of looking.

Known positive impact on their Black communities. ZERO.

Abject and complete failure of the narrative.

The most powerful, most generous, most productive country in the history of mankind is being tortured in an effort to cover up a failed narrative. The Wizard of OZ is applauding.

Making Sense

I think I have mentioned Kurt Schlichter before. He is, in my opinion, an outstanding writer and thinker.

He is also completely irreverent and has a knack for nicknames. Can you guess who Felonia Milhouse McPantsuit might be?

His latest column is titled "Stop Making Sense". I encourage you to read the whole thing. It makes a great deal of sense and provides some practical information.

His theory is that there is no point in trying to discuss things with the social justice warriors and assorted thugs wreaking havoc on our cities. We "normal Americans" (as he refers to us) are all about things making sense. For them though, making sense is not relevant.

"It's not about making sense. It never was. It's about making you kneel."

I have referred to this phenomenon before, although in another context.

It is not enough for us to have a live and let live attitude with respect to gay and trans people. They insist that unless we celebrate their lifestyle choices we are awful human beings. They insist that we kneel before their preferred alter. We must participate in their fantasies.

Until recently not being a racist was a good thing. Now that our non-racism has been proven over and over again it is not enough. Now we must kneel at the new alter of "anti-racism".

""Anti-racism can be defined as some form of focused and sustained action, which includes inter-cultural, inter-faith, multi-lingual and inter-abled (i.e. differently abled) communities with the intent to change a system or an institutional policy, practice, or procedure which has racist effects."[1] (Emphasis added)

So, just being a non-racist is no longer sufficient to get them to leave you alone. If you don't join them in "focused and sustained action" you are found wanting and will be made to kneel.

He includes a sentiment I have expressed many times but not as well as he does.

"Don't allow yourself to be demoralized. Victory is at hand. The media's polls are meant to crush your spirit, but ask yourself – do you know a single person who voted for Trump in 2016 but is now thinking, "Gosh, we need Grandpa Badfinger – he'll get the economy moving again even though he helped preside over nearly a decade of ennui?" Or have you had people who whisper to you, because they fear cancellation, "This time I'm voting for Trump?" I know zero of the former and a number of the latter. How about you?"

Don't let them get you down!

ps I am having to use a new format for these posts. For some reason a few lines of this post show up in a different font than the rest. I don't know why.

They Never Quit. We Can't Either. Updated

I will apologize in advance for drawing your attention, again, to the fact that the news media is bound and determined to demoralize us.

This headline appeared in my Yahoo! daily "news" email.

Trump defense on Russian bounty story falls flat, even with Republicans

Really? Let's count those "Republicans" for whom the "story falls short".

First up, former Republican and current dishonest pariah (to my great disappointment) John Bolton.

Liz Cheney wants to know why the President wasn't briefed on the issue. Not a word about the President.

Sen. Thom Tillis thinks if the Russians are really doing what has been reported they should be declared state sponsor's of terrorism. Not a word about the President.

Mitch McConnell. Not a word about the President.

I saved the best for last. Cindy McCain. Right, John McCain's widow. I am having a hard time imagining how her comment got in this story. Particularly in a way that implies that she is some sort of important Republican.

The article itself is a hoot. Some highlights.

"Trump has often spoken warmly of his personal relationship with the Russian president and has pursued policies that appear to align with Russian interests, including relocating some American troops from bases in Germany and seeking to have Russia readmitted to the G-7. Russia was expelled from the compact in 2014 as punishment for invading Ukraine and annexing Crimea."

The "punishment", now 6 years old, does not appear to have been very effective does it?

Trump has been very tough on Russia, as is well known. Two words. Fracking and sanctions.

Trump has explained his reasoning, to sum up, "We have a world to run". He wants them at the negotiating table where they can be brow beaten in person. He also suggested adding Australia, India and South Korea.

No doubt you have heard the saying "Keep your friends close and your enemies closer".

Trump wants to remove some troops from Germany. About 25% of our strength there.

In the same way as NPR goes ballistic when we try and stop their federal funding, even though it accounts for less than 5% of their revenue, Democrats, who have been clamoring about getting our troops out of everywhere forever (and constantly insist, in addition, that our troops are a bunch of maniacal murderous psychopaths) suddenly think its a disaster and a gift to Putin to remove 9,500 of our 34,000 personnel in Germany. Yes, I think we should take their hysterics seriously, don't you?

Do not believe a word they say.

UPDATE: Those troops are being redeployed to....POLAND. On Russia's doorstep.

Seriously, Not Literally

I have mentioned before that President Trump's critics take him literally but not seriously. His supporters take him seriously but not literally.

The President's penchant for exaggeration and sloppy speech is well known. We are ok with it. He is, despite his habits, almost always right with respect to the heart of the matter.

Time after time his critics beclown themselves trying to "prove" that something Trump said was wrong. Either a completely clueless statement or just the opposite of the truth. Otherwise known as a lie.

The latest entry in this never ending sweepstakes comes courtesy of the Washington Post, a former "newspaper".

Our President, they claim, said that all of America's most dangerous cities are run by Democrats. They stutter in righteous indignation and go to great lengths to prove that Trump was wrong. Trump said "all". He was wrong. Indeed they go on to supply indisputable evidence of Trump's wrongness by taking him literally.

They use two metrics to make their point. In one metric only 95% of the most dangerous cities are run by Democrats. In the other, only 85% of the most dangerous cities are run by Democrats.

Literally, not seriously, no matter the absolute seriousness of the situation.

https://pjmedia.com/instapundit/wp-content/uploads/2020/06/media.jpg
As is almost always the case, Donald Trump is correct by any reasonable accounting. He has driven these people far beyond reason and we should all thank him for that.

In this case they have done Trump's work for him and supplied all the ammunition he could ever require to keep making the point that Democrat run cities are the worst places in America to live and work. Only now he gets to Trump(et) that the Washington Post has confirmed his observation to an extent that all reasonable people will accept.

Keep up the good work!

Obama's Legacy

Biden held an online fundraiser yesterday featuring an appearance by President Obama.

Perhaps you saw the video clip of Biden, apparently forgetting the questions were prerecorded and apparently unable to assimilate that info, which was on the screen in front of all of us, attempting to engage the questioner in conversation. I can't find it now but will keep looking. Hilarious.

This one is also a hoot. Another Biden word salad. Obama's face is interesting as he tries to unpack the salad.

But that is not the point of this post.

I mentioned in my previous post the concept of "failing upward". Other than John Kerry and Hillary Clinton there is, in my opinion, no better example of this malign trend than Barack Hussein Obama.

After doing nothing notable, as far as I know, as an Illinois State Senator he managed to get himself elected to the U.S. Senate where, as far as I know, he did...nothing notable other than run for President.

He won. That is the one apparent exception to my "failing upward" indictment. It is a huge one.

One would not be unreasonable to assume that given such an enormous accomplishment good or great things would follow. One would be wrong, unfortunately. That one success was an aberration.

He had 8 years to work towards improving race relations in this country. Eight long and squandered years.

All he did was make them worse, as all polls during his tenure showed.

His legacy is Antifa, BLM, riots, arson, looting and shooting.

If he had a conscience he would be begging our forgiveness for the absolutely awful legacy that he owns.

This and That #13

Do not ever, ever, believe a word of mainstream reporting about President Trump or the state of the Right in American politics.

The goal of every article on either subject is to persuade us that we will lose every election always so why bother being active in politics or voting. They are determined to demoralize us.

They are desperate for us to stand down. Do not believe a word they say. Not Ever.

Follow this link and scroll down a bit for a fabulous clip of highlights from last Saturday's Tulsa event.

Three more thoughts on this subject.

You have read, no doubt, about the less than predicted turn out for that rally. You may not have read that it was viewed by 11.77 million people on three cable networks.

A lot of us have been complaining about the "dirty trick" played on the campaign by lefties reserving tickets with no intention of showing up. We shouldn't be. It was during either the 2008 or 2016 Presidential campaign that Rush Limbaugh urged us to vote in the Dem primaries to prolong their agony. We thought it hilarious. We ought not to be hypocrites. That is what they do.

I am sure you have seen stories about the President, Ivanka and Jared Kushner being furious about the event. The reason is that these people, unlike so many of us in and out of government, strive for success. Failure is met with fury, denunciation and often, replacement. That is how success is built.

Failing upward has become all too common. The Trumps will have none of it. Thank Goodness.

UPDATE

As if we needed more reason to believe that mainstream outlets are just lying sacks of crap, Yahoo's home page is now leading with this headline:

"Biden to Land Endorsement from Key GOP Group"

Really? It seemed an odd construction to me and I wondered what "Key Group" this might be. It is a "Key Group" that does not exist.

"Dozens of Republican former U.S. national security officials are forming a group that will back Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden, people familiar with the effort said, in a further sign that President Donald Trump has alienated some members of his own party." (Emphasis added)

Do not believe a word, not a word they say. Volunteer, donate and vote!

                                                                 &&&&&&&

Who the racists really are.

 All On The Line

"The district: Georgia's 3rd Congressional district stretches from Columbus to Atlanta and has a sizable Black population. According to FiveThirtyEight, the district has a 97.3 percent chance of being represented by a Republican."

Oh My Gawd!

So, Republicans can only represent white people. Who Knew. Tim Scott might have a different take on the matter.

All On The Line is an organization created with the blessing and support of Obama and Eric Holder. Two disgraceful race baiting hustlers without an ounce of integrity between them (I know. I should tell you what I really think.). I have been on their mailing list for some time.

The organization is dedicated to the proposition that gerrymandering is an anti-democratic racist plague. They are correct. They should know. It has existed in this country since the early 1800's but became an epidemic in the attempt to create black majority congressional districts in the last 50 years.

Things didn't work out for the racists. They discovered gerrymandering worked in both directions, so now they lay it at our feet and pretend to have clean hands.

                                                                    &&&&&&&

I have written before about Islam, The Religion of Pieces. That is, after all, how its victims end up.

There was another murderous stabbing spree by one of its adherents recently. Not news, not surprising.

Unfortunately another part of the story is also not news and not surprising.

"The suspect is also believed to have come to the attention of MI5 last year, after they suspected he was planning on travelling (sic) to Syria. However, an investigation revealed no risk or threat and he was not under surveillance at the time of yesterday's rampage."

Western cultural suicide abets another murder spree.

We should all be prepared to defend ourselves. The "authorities" are no longer willing to do so.

Looking For Answers In All The Wrong Places

Rogue cops, white or black or brown or yellow, are not an existential threat to Black Americans. They exist, but in numbers so tiny that while they are a threat to individuals of all colors they simply are not the reason in any part, large or small, that millions of Black Americans live in squalid conditions in big city Black communities. Nor do they contribute in any meaningful way to the carnage that occurs daily in big city Black communities across the America.

White Supremacists are not an existential threat to Black Americans. They also exist, but in numbers so small that while they can represent a threat to individual Black Americans and other Americans of color (and some of us who are considered "white"), they do not contribute in any meaningful way to the carnage that occurs daily in big city Black communities across America.

Racists exist in America, but a combination of laws and social ostracizing has rendered them toothless. They can hate all they want but are powerless to meaningfully affect the lives of  Black Americans or any of the other routinely hated groups of Americans. We have forced them to hate privately and quietly. A very welcome achievement.

The existential threat to Black Americans is actually Black Americans and the politicians for whom they vote.

Baltimore, Minneapolis, Chicago, Atlanta, Detroit, Washington, D.C. are all run by Democrats and have been for decades. Black Americans vote, almost exclusively, for Democrats.

With the exception of Minneapolis, all have had Black run administrations, on and off, for years. What do the millions of Black Americans have to show for their fealty to Democrats and their own racist voting patterns? Addiction, black on black crime and murder by the 10's of thousands, cultural collapse and poverty.

What we are seeing in the streets is a massive attempt at legerdemain, gaslighting and yet another attempt to blame the problems on anyone and anything other than those responsible, themselves. An all too human failing.

I proposed a plan to rescue the Black community in 2015 .

That it was not acted upon is not surprising considering that I have not earned much of an audience for my policy prescriptions. Perhaps my suggestion was simply no good. Always a possibility. It is instructive to read though, considering we are, once again, being victimized by the same "victims" we were five years ago and for the same "reasons".

As I wrote in  another 2015 post,

" Ugly, racialist movements like "Black Lives Matter" only serve to make those of us who believed in the fight for equality cringe and stand down. Apparently nothing is enough so why bother."

Shocking!

I started writing this blog in 2006. Over the years I have assumed that I toil in obscurity. The evidence is overwhelming. 13 years, 10,480 page views.

Turns out I have a really important viewer (other than my kids), apparently.

The Foreign Minister of Iran! Who knew?

"After Iran launched a missile attack against air bases in Iraq that housed U.S. and coalition forces, Iran's Foreign Minister Mohammed Javad Zarif tweeted that Iran was finished fighting and was not actively pursuing any kind of escalation to the conflict.

"Iran took & concluded proportionate measures in self-defense under Article 51 of UN Charter targeting base from which cowardly armed attack against our citizens & senior officials were launched," Zarif tweeted. "We do not seek escalation or war, but will defend ourselves against any aggression." (Emphasis added)

You will have to read my previous post to get the full gist and importance of this.

Tuesday, January 07, 2020

Seriously? WWIII?

It is impossible for anyone to really believe that our assassination of an Iranian official government terrorist will spark a war. Impossible.

Is there any reason to worry about Iran attacking us with any serious result? No.

Have a look at this.

I don't know when the statistics were compiled. I suspect, given the oil output numbers used, that they are a few years old. Instructive none the less.

Scroll down to the weaponry and man-power figures for a laugh.

We have rendered Iran a basket case with our current sanctions regime.

Rather than President Trump killing this terrorist to distract from his supposed "impeachment", it is far more likely that Iran has been escalating its nuisance attacks on us and our allies to distract its population from their own displeasure with the maniacs that run that god forsaken country. A "sh--hole" as the President might describe it.

Killing terrorists is suddenly bad?

All of the yammering has one explanation.

Orange Man Bad!

Put The Toaster Away

When I travel alone I stay in inexpensive hotels.

I returned from a trip to Santa Rosa, CA yesterday, the purpose of which was to visit my very elderly mother.

The hotel I stayed at, a motel actually, offered complimentary continental breakfast in their "Breakfast Room".

I ventured over there on Wednesday morning and the fare was as advertised, I did not expect anything more being a veteran of cheap hotels/motels.

There was a toaster on one of the counters but, hunt as I did, I could not find anything to put in it.

I inquired of the English challenged attendant where I might find the bread.

Exasperated she exclaimed while gesticulating elaborately, "No bread, no bagels, all gone!" She then removed the toaster from the counter and put it away in the adjacent kitchen.

It was hilarious in a slapstick sort of way.

Thinking about the incident later it suggested itself as an apt metaphor for the Democrats "Impeachment Inquiry".

If there were any bread or bagels to be found they would long since have found them.

We should do them a favor and put the toaster away by taking back the House.

They Just Cannot Help Themselves, Again

I keep pointing out the ceaseless bias in mainstream media for two reasons.

1) It is so much fun.

2) To remind all of us of the relentless, dishonest, destructive and dangerous campaign to discourage us and caricature President Trump.

The always reliably disingenuous Yahoo! strikes again in the aftermath of President Trump's post mission press conference regarding the killing of the ISIS leader who's name I will not mention.

Here is their headline.

They Just Cannot Help Themselves

This appeared on the Yahoo Home Page at 1:29 PM Pacific today.

"...that the president himself..." The clear intention of the headline, since this story is about our former ambassador to the Ukraine, is that President Trump did something wrong.

The actual story is relatively unremarkable.

An ambassador was removed and replaced because the President, at whose pleasure she served, was annoyed that she as interfering with his direct diplomatic efforts.

The "implication" is actually that he was personally involved in firing someone who worked for him. Oh my. Surely that is a criminal offense! Wait, its not? Well, surely it is an impeachable offense! Wait, it isn't any offense at all? Impossible, why else would it be front and center on Yahoo's Home Page? Because...Trump, of course.

"The former ambassador says she was fired from her post after insisting that Giuliani's requests to Ukrainian officials for investigations be relayed through official channels, according to a former diplomat who has spoken with her. That former diplomat insisted on anonymity to disclose the private conversation."

Here comes the really good part.

"The diplomat was recalled from Kyiv as Rudy Giuliani — who is Trump's personal attorney and has no official role in the U.S. government — pressed Ukrainian officials to investigate baseless corruption allegations against Democrat Joe Biden and his son, Hunter, who was involved with a gas company there." (Emphasis added)

"Baseless corruption allegations"? As far as I know there has been no investigation and certainly no believable non-corrupt explanation for a Ukranian gas company to pay the former V.P.'s son, who has no known expertise in Natural Gas or the Ukraine, something on the order of $50,000 a month while his father was in charge of Ukranian issues for the Obama administration. The payments continued into early 2019.

Did I mention that young Mr. Biden has no expertise that anyone knows of regarding the gas business or the Ukraine itself?

This is what passes for "news reporting".  Dangerous, destructive, infuriating.

Do not believe a word they say.

I think I mentioned Sarah Hoyt once before as saying that when she reads in the mainstream media that it is raining outside she goes outside to check, without an umbrella.

Do not forget that the mission of the media is to brow beat us into silence and discourage us from voting because everyone knows Trump is Toast.

I am looking forward to their furious lamentations when we beat them again in 2020.

Donate and volunteer if you can.
